"I’m sure most of you have heard the sad story of how my wonderful Dad and his sister (Jacquie) were reunited just before he lost his battle to the bastard cancer.
ā
Dad was a dog lover too, in their short time together I know how proud he was of Barkinside and the selfless efforts they put in to rescuing animals that society just throws away.
ā
I really want to raise some money for this wonderful cause which is why I am running this years London marathon in aid of Barkinside.ā
ā
Please give whatever you can.
ā
Those 26 miles are nothing compared to the tireless efforts of my wonderful aunt and her team of volunteers."
This is why we are so grateful and excited to announce that one of Barkinsides friends and supporters is running this years London Marathon to raise the desperately needed funds which enable Barkinside to continue its key role in animal welfare in Spain.
Supporter, friend and much loved relation of our very own hero Jacquie, SAM WOOSTER is seeking supporters to sponsor her while she puts herself through the gruelling 26 mile run around London on Sun 27th April 2025.āā
ā
100% of every donation received goes to help those we have rescued.
None of it is spent on staff or administration.
We all work on a voluntary basis.

BACKGROUND & MORE INFO

As you will know If you're one of those who play any of the supporting roles which keep Barkinside functional and able to do what it does and to help the animals of Spain - our finances have been getting tighter and tighter over the last couple of years.
Similarly to many of you, our basic running costs have increased sharply recently (for example our vets bills, which despite the kindness of our amazing vets, now run into the thousands of Euros every month.
ā
OUR MONTHLY VETS BILLS HAVE ALMOST DOUBLED
BUT OUR INCOME HAS NOT āā
We dont need to tell you that the economic outlook is bleak and shows no signs of slowing up.
But giving in or stopping what we do is not an option for Barkinside.
We cannot turn our back on the never ending flow of new cases who are desperate for our help, we also cannot suddenly withdraw the help and support for those who are permanent residents at the Sanctuary.
Its not something we can consider. Our residents have experienced nothing except hellish conditions and abuse their entire lives. Their naturally trusting and loving natures have made them vulnerable to all kinds physical and mental violation.
It is imperative that they have no doubt that never again will the trust they put in us be broken.
Our commitment to them is for the whole of their lifetime, unfortunately maintaining this costs a lot of money.
ā
We cannot survive without all the help, donations and support we receive from our many friends.
ā
The more successful we are in our rescue mission, the higher our day-to-day costs are.
OTHER WAYS TO HELPāā
ā
As mentioned previously, we know that despite really wanting to give money, its not possible for many people, for many reasons, but this doesnt mean you cant help - we need to spread this appeal as far and wide as possible in order to let as many people as possible know about her aims, what we do at Barkinside and where the funds will be spent.
ā
Sharing online via social media and emails, in real life by word of mouth, and mentioning it as we go about our everyday lives.
ā
Alternatively please consider sharing the post from the Barkinside Blog, which can be found here.
Our mantra is our promise, because everything that Barkinside does is done by volunteers, right from physical support at the Sanctuary, being involved in caring for or rescuing desperately hurt animals, through to action taken online, 100% of every cent or penny raised goes to help those we have rescued.
ā
100% of every donation received goes to help those we have rescued.
None of it is spent on staff or administration.
We all work on a voluntary basis.
If you prefer to make the PayPal transaction directly this is the email address associated with the account: barkinside69@aol.co.uk If you are having problems, please contact us.
There's a post on the BarkinsideBlog, which might be easier to share than the whole web page
